A route for nice weather. 2 classic ascents in the Forest of Bowland that are really long but not too steep. Fantastic views and very quiet roads.

Loyn Bridge Loop Run Route - Trail 2 stars

The cross country half from Loyn Bridge to Aughton along the Lune is extremely muddy and quite overgrown in winter. This is followed by a 30 degree climb up to Aughton. A tough 10k!
Ullswater Way (from Patterdale) Run Route - Fell 3 stars

This is a gorgeous off road run (or walk) on a mix of rocky trails, fields, tiny bit of road, tiny bit of clambering over rocks. It is really well marked now. I always start from Patterdale through to Howtown, Pooley Bridge (half way point), Aira Force and then through Glenridding back to Patterdale. My favourite day out.
Coal Rd Challenge Route Bike Route - Road 3 stars

The Coal Road Challenge is a Classic Reliability Ride organised by Lune Cycling Club, the actual even takes place on the last Sunday in February but this route is a great challenge at any time of the year.

The views towards all three counties from the top of the Coal Road are spectacular and well worth the slog!!

A nice little run over the tops in Halton, heading down to the Crook O Lunne for a nice run through woods and along the river.

One way coast to coast route from west to east. Some climbing at the beginning over to Hawes but not too much. Although this is a 100+ mile route so not an easy ride.

IIMUK 2018 Route Bike Route - Road 3 stars

PROVISIONAL 2018 BIKE COURSE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Athletes will take on the undulating hills of the Lancashire countryside during the 2-loop bike course. While there are steep climbs on the course, athletes can look forward to excellent spectator support as these hills serve as spectator hotspots – including Hunters Hill and the famed Bolton wrestlers of Sheep House Lane. From mile 110, the bike course runs parallel to the run course on Chorley New Road before athletes head into the newly located transition in Queen’s Park near Bolton town centre. Please Note: All courses remain subject to minor adjustments.
Kitridding Bike Route - Road 2 stars

Fairly easy 40 mile route on some less often visited roads. Lots of variations to be had.
Loyn Bridge to Devil's Bridge Run Route - Trail 2 stars

Route can be run in either direction and navigation is pretty straightforward. Really soft and muddy in winter. Parking at the layby at Loyn Bridge and at the carpark at Devil's Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale.
