20 medals in Rotterdam including 1 made in Lancaster

British triathletes bagged a record 20 medal haul in the annual Age Group World Championships held over the weekend in Rotterdam. One medal was especially significant for COLT because the 20-24 Age Group gold was won by Beau Smith who spent his junior years and early senior years racing in COLT colours.

COLT was ably represented by 5 current members including Brett Fletcher who finished in the top third of his 40-44 age group in 2:11:54, and by Guy Higgs who unfortunately had to retire after a crash on the bike, not of his own making despite setting one of the best swim times in has 50-54 age group.

Louise Kelly flew the COLT for the women finishing a very encouraging 18th in the Senior 35-39 age group in a time of 2:18:40

Paul Smith recorded the fastest COLT time of 2:08:44 finishing a superb 24th in the really tough 40-44 age group.

Andrew Kirkman also represented COLT in the 45-49 age group finishing 37th in a rapid 2:12:14.

  1. I don’t recall you chasing race reports up from the World Championships Duathlon?


    • I don’t see my role as that of chasing race reports. I might have a periodic nudge on the Facebook page, but it’s up to members to actually write stuff.
